Dance - Tutorial with rachel

As we couldn't really focus on one idea we went to rachel with all of our initial ideas to see what she though of them and ask how we could go about them.

She told us that we should avoid doing something cliché we we had a risk of doing with most of our ideas and to try doing something different and challenging.  So we decided to go ahead with the liminality poem, how ever as this poem is mostly underwater we had a few issues about doing it.

She told us not to worry about it and focus on getting the idea 100% becuase the setting or underwater can be changed. She also suggested we didnt just re create the poem in a visual manner  but went through it and found our own interpretations from it.

Here is the poem we are using  because i cant remember if i have already posted it.

She gave us a list of things to think about and do before our next tutorial like

Go through the poem
Analyse the content, line by line
Conceptualise each line - interpret for yourself, metaphors / meaning:
I'm interested in YOUR interpretation of the themes in the poem not a
replica film of the poem
research the ideas that come from that
how does dance play out in each of those ideas

Questions to think about:
What do the coupe know about life - if they think the only way to
experience 'heaven' is through death?
What are they saying about life v's death: living in the real world?
What is heaven?
