Dance - FINALLY

So we have spent god knows how long trying to find a dancer, equipment and a room to  create our film.

There were points where we thought we had one of the things and points where we nearly had all of them but unfortunately we kept being let down.

Here are some of the problems we had :

We cast two female dancers , did a skype audition and every thing seemed great  but then one of them pulled out.  We then went back to putting out emails and ringing up placers to look for another dance and got about 20 reply how ever they either couldn't do the days we wanted or lived too far away and it seemed like we was going no where.

With most of the equipment being booked out of stores  and our need of a good slow mo camera we looked at other places how ever with little budget and we had to look at filming on DSLRs because at this point we just wanted something to be sorted.

We rang EVERYWHERE we could think of, pubs, clubs , churches, village halls, schools but everywhere just kept saying no to us or wanted to charge £20 an hour, we finally found a nightclub that had an all black room for us to film and we thought this was great ... but then a few days later they emailed back saying there license didn't allow us to film their.



By this point we were starting to get really fed up, we didnt want to give up but its really frustrating when your trying to get things sorted and everything keeps pulling out.

Eventually dogan gave up one of his slots in the studio as we still had no dancers we asked if lucys group could film a week earlier as they were pretty much ready giving us an extra week to find a dancer.

This also meant as Dogan had given up one of his days he also had to give up equipment which meant that we had a camera, even if we have to film in 720 (that or 1080 interlace but with all the problems we have had i dont want to faff around with that )

I wish this could have been sorted when we first asked him to give up a day out of his 4 a month ago so we would have been sorted so much sooner  rather than having to waste time going round in bloody circles, but we have a room and equipment now and thats all that matters.

With dates now set in stone it made it so much easier to filter out dancers and make it more clear for them.  Whilst i was sitting in on lucys groups auditions she got an email from a guy who fitted everything we needed and could film on the date we were looking for  so she gave me his details  and now we have a male dancer which is what we initially wanted.


Its  quite reliving to finally have everything sorted because despite all the hard work we have put in at times i thought it was never going to happen.  Were now worried again because it a week until we film and we havent had chance to get them to both dance together yet how ever we have really clear ideas and they have a lot of tallent  so collaboratively we will be able to make something really good.
