There was a quote in clair bishops book installation art that says ' entering the installation is like a journey half way across the river styx'
This then lead me to research what the river styx is and about greek mythology of the after life.
styx is a river in Greek mythology that formed the boundary between Earth and the Underworld (the domain usually called Hades, which is also the name of its ruler). The Greek underworld, in mythology, was a place where souls went after death and was the Greek idea of afterlife. At the moment of death the soul was separated from the corpse, taking on the shape of the former person, and was transported to the entrance of Hades. Hades was a realm invisible to the living and it was made solely for the dead. The dead within the Homeric Underworld lack menos, or strength, and therefore they cannot influence those on earth. They also lack phrenes, or wit, and are heedless of what goes on around them and on the earth above them. Hades himself would make the individual's punishment of eternal suffering based on their specific crime. For Prometheus the titan of forethought who created mortals and gave them fire, he was chained to a mountain with an eagle feeding on his regenerating liver. He was also not a tormenter of the dead, and sometimes considered the "Zeus of the dead" because he was hospitable to them.
the part that interested me the most bout this is that hades punished people biased on the crimes they have committed. We have decided that we want the viewer to be able to choose weither they experience heaven, hell on the in between and maybe for the hell section we could make the person feel like they have committed a crime and are being punished for it like they would be in greek mythology.
Ive also been reading a lot of peoples near death experiences
Some articles including

the main things that i got from these that we could inclued in the in-between video is
- experience and intese bright light
- not painful/ at peace
- beings of light/ spirits
- strong voices telling them to go back into there body
- flash backs
i also read an article a while back that i cant remember the name of that explained more of the science side to why people experience such things in near death experiences. The basic concepts were that when your body shuts of the chemical and hormones are still ruining for another 7 minutes after you die. In this time you are over whelmed with emotions, creating a feeling of pain but blissful and can case and blinding sensation. It also said that it can cause you to dream and as dreams have no scense of time even though it has only been 7 minutes people feel like they have experienced and re lived there whole lives again.
This article http://science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/extrasensory-perceptions/near-death-experience4.htm says Some have theorized that "neural noise," or an overload of information sent to the brain's visual cortex, creates an image of a bright light that gradually grows larger [ref]. The brain may interpret this as moving down a dark tunnel. The peaceful, calm sensation felt during NDEs may be a coping mechanism triggered by increased levels of endorphins produced in the brain during trauma. Many people experience a strange sense of detachment and a lack of emotional response during traumatic events.
