1 - Interactive music video
inspired by chris milk i want to create an interactive music video based around Murad Osmann photography series where his girlfriend leads him around the globe.
This is a serise of images like this
in my video i would use game console cameras and technology to create an interactive piece where the viewer is guided on a journey in the style as above, the user could waver there hands around to look around the place.
i think this would be a fun interactive video, how ever it dosent have much mean behind it as it focus on a very vague meaning of journeys. I also do no think i have the technical ability yet to create a piece like this.
idea 2 - say yes
based around the play i mentioned in a previous post ' you one said yes' and the web video i mentioned in another post called ' the network' i want to create a immersive video, which involves one person being trapped in a room with videos playing on all four walls ( i want to do this as i feel it would give the viewer a heightened senses of feelings towards the footage as there are fully imersed in it the film ) they will also have a computer that allows them to make choices about how the story goes on, i want to make the viewer think and go down some kind of emotional journey as they become involved in the story by making choices. how ever the choices they make will be covered by a serise of pop up boxes that come up on the computer, these pop up boxes on have the option to say yes even if they do not want to.
i dont think i will be able to make this either as the story i am thinking about is very vauge, i also wont have to resources to build the kind of space i would like to show it, or the technical ability to program it.
idea 3- map of the uk
i want to create a map of the uk and when you click on places around the country it shows the cultural diffeences between place to place. these will mainly be geotaged videos that are linked to the map so when you say hover over newcastle the video plays.
the topic i would probably cover is student live as that is the easiest for to relate to.
how ever all though i know a lot of people in alot of different unis around the uk, i do not have the time or the resources to go up and down the country filming everyone.
idea 4 - uca stories
using geotagging and qr codes i would hid qr stickers around the university and when activated by a smartphone the user would be able to see a video that was filmed in that location. the videos interviews of students and would tell stories about the journeys people have been whilst at university.
i like this idea the most as i like the use of incorporating smart phones and geo tagging how ever i think the idea being the journeys is pretty lame and uniteresting and i also dont know how to work qork qr codes
