PTK studio shoot - Story / synopsis

this is the basics of our film, like i said the ending still needs some work thats why it isnt in as much detail as the rest of it.

Group b synopsis

Jane/john has been set to 4 years imprisonment for the act of being overly creative. When we first meet Jane/john she is forcefully pushed into a prison cell by two big bland security guards, all though we don’t see the security guards you can tell their appearance and character through the way they talk. As the are pushing her into the room the guards are mocking her and repeating the reason why she has been throw in jail to her, their voices are deep and monotone giving the impression there is not much to them other than muscle.

As jane/john looks around the prison cell we can see the vast emptiness and forced uncreative place they are going to have to live in.  The room is highly dull in colour with no more colour than the palest shade of browns and greys. The walls are either padded or covered in pages of textbooks forcing her too look at nothing, in hopes it makes her blander.  There is a small cast iron bed in the corner but no mattress or bedding to sleep on, along side that the only other piece of furniture is an old wooden desk. On the old wooden desk there are piles and plies of textbooks, they are left cluttered and over spill of the desk on to the floor.

When we see jane/johns clothing there in white loose fitting trousers, their face appears tired and drained of most colour with there eyes bulging for what can only be sleep deprivation.  They are tightly tidy up in a straight jacket, which no matter how hard they struggle it fails to become loose. They have been left alone for what appears to be a while now with only there own thoughts. These thoughts will be played on a loop over the film progressive getting louder as Jane/john struggles more and more with being trapped in confinement. There is a sudden slam of a large metal door, jane/john looks towards it to see a grey dinner tray has been slipped trough the door. On the school dinner tray is the plainest of sandwiches, white bread just cheese, a glass of water and another textbook. At this point jane/john has had enough and begins to start screaming, kicking biting doing any thing they can to force their way out for the jacket.

There is a sudden look of delight on their face as they realise they have been able to get there arms free. Rushing over to the empty wall they begin repeatedly scratching a tearing there way through the padding in hopes it will lead to a way out. They begin to get tired and loose all faith and just before they are about to sit down and give jane/john sees a glimpse of light that is burst a small hole they have made through the wall.  As they slowly peel away at this small hole they see a completely different place.

This place is not dull and lifeless and covered with textbooks like they are used to but is a vast land of bright colour. The camera pans round the streets of this new world to uncover billboards which are showing films and work that has been created on DFSA as they look up around the building they see the names of them  ‘ the institute of film and interactivity’  ‘ creative colour grading HQ ‘  etc

After looking around this magical world we cut back to see jane/john still peering through wall their face has become bright and alive with joy as they pull the wall further apart and step through out of their prison.
