PTK - Studio Shoot - What a producer does - Script break down

a script break down is like a map to the whole film, from a script break down you will clearly be able to see what you need to do and who you need to hire.

the first stage of breaking down the script is defining the elements

  • title
  • page count ( this will give you a timing of the film )
  • int/ext day / night shots
  • locations
  • cast
  • background actors
  • props
  • animals
  • viercals
  • stunts
  • hair / make up
defining these things for early on will make the rest of the pre production process easier

you will then devied the script up into 1/8ths this will then give you an idication of how long each scene is going to be

from working our location, int/ext day night scenes you can then come up with a basic scedual for the film

a general rule of them thumb is to film about 3-4 pages of script in a 12 hr day

you can then use this to converse with the director to give you more information of budgeting and scheduling and make changes to the script if needed
