Dance - Disabled and deaf dance research

When kat first approached me the first thing i thought about was how do deaf people dance?

I found this article by the telegraph and this one by the bbc  an interesting read and insite to deaf and dance.   The main way i found out through my research in how deaf people dance is through vibrations of the music which they use to 'hear' the rhythm.

This made me think that we should do our dance piece to a drum and bass song as they have very heavy vibrations and would be easier to visually represent through dance.

I then looked on line for deaf dance videos and here is some of the interesting ones i found

One of the main issues with this idea though is comunication, as it will be hard to give them directions and find a translator. We were thinking of using hearing abled people to replicate how deaf people dance how ever we feel this takes away the whole concept.

We are also having trouble coming up with a way to show how they can dance in a dance.
