Dance- Liminality thoughts

As this is our favourite idea at the minute i thought i would do some research into how we could film it and think about what problems we might have to over come.

So the obvious problem for us is how can we do it with out actually going under water.

We don't have access to a swimming pool or have training / equipment to film it underwater  so we will have to film it in some other way.

My initial through is to do it in a green screen room that way we could put them on to an under water back ground and use colour correction and cleaver lighting to make them look under water.

like this ( i know it is for photography but we could do it in affer effects so it moves)

How ever this also causes a problem as, clothing, hair and body movements wont flow as realistically as if we filmed them underwater.  we could use fans to potentially make the clothes and hair move like they are underwater but would need several tests to see if this would work.

here are some videos i have been looking at to get an idea of how people move under water

we could use tight clothes and tie hair up, how ever it wont look as flowing or beautiful as we plan.

we could film some aspects under water  like the falling coins, air bubbles in a big fish tank like in this video  and over lay them in and hope its enough imply they are underwater.

Another big issue is copy right, one of the most beautifull things about the poem is the way he has writen is and phrased it and i would ideally like to keep the words in the film, how ever if we were not aloud copywrite of the poem we could take the basic idea and get rid of the words and change it abit so it links in no way to neils poem to get rid of copyright issues.

Over all this could be quite a complicated idea which will need a lot of research and we might be better again going with something similar we can create a 100% perfect finished output.
