Dry for wet is a technique used to make a film look like it has been made under water when really it has been done in a studio. It involves a combination of on set magic and alot of colour correcting to create almost realist looking under water scenes.
Here are some example of dry for wet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7Kg_CTJP6w this underwater scene in the lord of the rings was also filmed dry to wet, i can tell a little bit that it is howver i think thats because i know its dry to wet

these shows the steps we would need to do to colour our film

I think all thought it may not look as realistic as if we filmed under water, it think it will be rather fun to do something this kind of technically challenging.
The way we plan on going about this :
Slow motion
use fans to blow the hair / clothes around with the movement of the dance to give it a realistic floating feeling
film dust particles and fog against a black screen and layer mask them onto of the video
film bubbles in a tank in relation to the movement and over lay
A hella lot of colour grading
like seriously colour grading is going to be a pain in the arse and me and lauren are definatly going to need some help with that.
This is going to take a lot of testing to make sure we do this correctly to get the most realist effect out of it.
We have also enlisted an honorary member to our crew resident technical whiz at dfsa yr 2 ... thomas doukinwhatshisface
All though we want to do most of this on our own we though it would be best to have someone on hand who can after effects and help if needed.
so on set tom will be around to make sure the green screen is correctly lit and hold the fan to make the hair and costume blow :) we also may need his help to make an ocean floor as if we get close ups off there feet it will be obvious they are stood on a studio floor so we may need something to cover that up.
