PTK - Studio shoot - what a producer does - scheduling

From the script break down you can create an elements sheet, this allows you to see all the elements for each scene.  This will then be helpful when it comes to scheduling the film.

the main rules of scheduling a film are

  • no more than 4 pages of script  in a 12 hr day
  • do ext shots first this way if the wether changes you can move thing around
  • put more complex scenes later in the schedule this way when the cast and crew have gotten to know each other they will work together better to challenge it.
  • shoot similar scense all in one go eg all scenese with one actor on own  this way they will all be grouped to gather an make it easier to edit
  • make the first shoot day easy so everyone can relax into the shoot
  • go from wide shots and work in
  • dont shoot in chronological order its not efficent
  • keep in mind location dates and times
